Technological Process Manager
About me…
My adventure at JGL started a long time ago, in 1995, when I substituted for an employee on sick leave at the tea department. I am happy to say that this substitute has now lasted for 27 years. After I finished Secondary School for Hospitality with an emphasis in culinary science (and I am still passionate about cooking to this day), I was invited to work at JGL, an offer I couldn’t refuse. All of a sudden, I was working in an industry I was not familiar with. By working, learning, and with the help of many excellent mentors (I often say that the directors and colleagues were my surrogate parents in the beginning), I reached my current position – the head of the technological process at the dry oral forms department. I have worked in all stages of production (production, dosing, packaging), I spent five years in quality assurance, and I have also worked as a shift manager in production.
About my workday…
My workday starts with a short briefing with the colleagues from my department at 8, and there we briefly discuss what occurred in previous shifts. After that, we have a regular daily briefing with our director and the heads of all departments in production. Working in production is highly dynamic, so I do not really have a typical day. I am fortunate to have the privilege of having no two days the same. Closing work orders, planning processes and shifts, quick and efficient problem solving, validations... All of these are part of my work day.
About work challenges…
Like I said, working in production is dynamic and specific. It is challenging to make the right decision in a limited amount of time and to properly and efficiently do all that was planned. I face both smaller and bigger challenges every day, but I try to approach them in an objective and rational way to find a way to resolve them.
About the team environment…
Working in a team is great, and I believe that progress can be made only if we work as a team, which is something I hold true outside JGL as well. A team is significantly more powerful than any individual, and my team in production and in the dry oral forms department is what “pushes” me to become better and more efficient at my job.
About motivation and interests…
I do not lack motivation, but my greatest motivation is the feeling of happiness and contentment at the end of a job well done.
About working at JGL…
I am not exaggerating when I say that working at JGL is EVERYTHING for me. JGL gave me the opportunity to be a droplet in the sea of success, JGL raised me, and JGL was always there when I needed any help. I simply cannot imagine my life without JGL. I especially enjoy the family atmosphere, which is most present among us “older” employees, which gives me a feeling of real happiness and fulfilment.
About the desire for new knowledge…
I try to be the best I can be at everything I do; every day is a learning process. I try to follow the trends in pharmaceutical manufacturing and continuously strive to improve our processes to be simpler and more efficient while keeping the quality at the highest possible level.
About my hobbies…
My hobby and the thing I enjoy the most is mountain biking. I started by riding around my block, and now I have reached the competitive level where I try to represent JGL (by wearing a JGL jersey) to the best of my ability. New landscapes, wild forest paths, mountain tracks, the adrenaline, the feeling of freedom I have while biking – it’s something that gives me energy in my personal and work life. I try to bike at least four times a week and improve my form for future competitions.
About success and satisfaction…
Besides business and biking accomplishments, my greatest success and happiness in life is my family, my wife Marina and our children Franko, Nina and Jan.
