As part of the project Product of the Year, organised for the third consecutive year by the most popular Croatian web portal for women, www.zena.hr, an award ceremony was held in the hotel Esplanade for the most popular products in Croatia, according to the opinion of the readers of www.zena.hr, the leading online lifestyle edition for women in Croatia and the region. A new product from the Aqua Maris line by the JGL pharmaceutical company from Rijeka, Aqua Maris Refresh, won the award in the health category. Tamara Radić, JGL's marketing director for the SEE region, accepted the award on behalf of JGL.
Aqua Maris Refresh is a mixture of beneficial Adriatic seawater enriched with lavender and immortelle hydrolates; it refreshes, protects and cleans a dry and irritated nose, thus enabling long term care of an irritated and dry nasal mucosa. Lavender and immortelle hydrolates have an analgesic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antiallergic properties, as well as a soothing effect on the whole body. The product is completely natural, without additives or preservatives, and it is suitable for daily use.
Aqua Maris is currently present on three continents and in over 30 countries, it is one of the most successful Croatian export brands, with export that makes for 98 percent of its sales, and according to the information of the consulting firm Nicholas Hall for 2013, Aqua Maris is also the best-selling brand globally in the saline solutions and seawater-based solutions segment with a global market share of eight percent.
Almost 35,000 women, readers of the web portal www.zena.hr,, voted for the 490 nominated products in the consumer goods segment, and the voting lasted over two and a half months.
This reward is a great acknowledgement, seeing as women mostly make decisions on purchasing consumer products. A research on the shopping habits of Croatian women has shown that they enjoy shopping and generally spend up to several hours per week in stores, they notice advertising campaigns and like to try out new arrivals on the market, they make impulsive purchases, and the Internet is the leading medium through which they discover information about products.
