Commendation to the City of Rijeka and JGL for sea renewal initiative using eco-friendly balls

At the annual meeting of the Child Friendly City and Municipality initiative, the city of Rijeka received a commendation for JGL's ecological initiative with the aim of raising the awareness of children and the general public about the importance of preserving the purity of our sea, a unique and invaluable natural resource.

On the occasion of one millionth manufacturing jubilee of Aqua Maris, an initiative was launched in May 2014 with the aim of renewing the sea with eco-friendly mud balls based on Japan's EM Technology, which dissolve marine sludge and other sources of unpleasant smell through fermentation, thus renewing the quality of the seabed. Effective microorganisms have the ability to use natural biochemical processes in order to turn harmful substances into healthy and useful ones, like nature has been doing for millions of years.

This original ecological initiative included students from primary schools, the Maritime school Bakar, and numerous citizens of Rijeka who participated in solving the problem of improving the quality of the sea.

The Adriatic Sea is one of the purest seas in the world, and the preservation of its state requires continuous and joint commitment of all of us who live in its vicinity and benefit from it.
