JGL was honoured with the CSR Index Award in the category of large companiesat today's opening ceremony of the National Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility in the Regent Esplanade Hotel. The award was granted by Croatian Chamber of Commerce, and the fifth Conference was organized by the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipović, who presented the award to the winners. On behalf of the Company JGL, CSR Index was accepted by the Chairman of the Board Ivo Usmiani, who said that for JGL the corporate social responsibility, based on the joint investment in the future, represents the concept of creating shared value according to which the activities by which the Company contributes to the society are related to the core business, having a focus on the environmental protection and the improvement of living standards for the stakeholders inside and outside the Company. For JGL, this is the second award received in the area of sustainable development - in 2011 the Company was honoured with the CSR Index Award for the greatest progress in relation to the previous year.
The objective of the award and evaluation of CSR Index is to enable reliable annual comparative assessment of the most successful Croatian companies with regard to their responsibility and the application of the principles of sustainable business. The award shall be granted in accordance with the methodology and criteria of evaluation of socially responsible practices in three main categories: small, medium-sized and large companies.
Despite a five-year economic stagnation the Croatian society is facing with, in the same period JGL is growing in a propulsive manner; it is exporting, investing and employing - in five years of crisis the total revenue is doubled. Also, the strategy of developing new products and expanding into new markets, total consolidated revenues of JGL Group increased from HRK 1.5 million in 1991 to HRK 877 million in 2013 (pursuant to unaudited statements). In the corporate portfolio of JGL there are nearly 100 brands, 540 products and 1100 variations nowadays; the Company operates in 40 world markets and 77% of sales belongs to export.
Thanks to the team and dedicated work of the employees, as well as the continuous investment in the development of innovative products that encourage a positive attitude and educate about the importance of health as a prerequisite for a fulfilled and happy life, JGL has managed to achieve excellent results in many non-financial segments in recent years.
