The Croatian Chamber of Economy hosted the 2nd Internationalisation Conference in Zagreb on 26 November 2024 to emphasise the vital role of exporters in the economic system and support companies in international markets.
In Croatia, only around 15 per cent of companies are exporters. However, these businesses employ over half of the private sector workforce, make up 62 per cent of total investments, and account for 73 per cent of all development investments. Exporting provides companies with opportunities for growth and a competitive edge, but in the process, they face challenges such as unfamiliarity with local markets, legal barriers, and limited resources. The conference served as a platform for sharing experiences, exploring innovative business models, and networking with key stakeholders in the business community.
The conference brought together a large number of entrepreneurs along with international and domestic experts from the fields of economics, technology, and politics. JGL Board Member Eva Usmiani Capobianco participated in the panel discussion “Export Without Borders: Financing Strategies, Risk Management, and Logistics Challenges.”
“Exports make up 86 per cent of our sales, making them a critical aspect of our business. We are active in over 60 markets worldwide. In the EU, we primarily operate through a business-to-business contract manufacturing model, producing products for other companies under their brands. Conversely, in Asia and the Middle East, we focus on an exclusive distribution model for our own brands, such as Vizol S and Aqua Maris.” explained Eva Usmiani Capobianco during the panel. She also addressed the importance of risk management in exports, emphasising the need to closely monitor geopolitical, macroeconomic, and social variations across all markets where the JGL Group operates.
