JGL’s Education Centre (EDUC) launched in February 2025 with a clear mission: to build a strong foundation of knowledge, skills, responsibility, confidence, and a sense of belonging for new employees, particularly in production and related areas.
After just over a month of intensive, inaugural training, the first group of EDUC participants has successfully completed the programme. Their positive experience has validated the Centre’s founding vision – to offer an innovative model not only for onboarding but also as a key platform for future professional development at JGL.
The EDUC curriculum was created in collaboration with numerous JGL experts and delivered by 25 in-house instructors alongside four external lecturers. Over the course of several weeks, the first generation of EDUC participants – 29 new employees – covered essential programme components, ranging from theoretical knowledge of production processes and technologies to hands-on machine exercises and an introduction to JGL’s values and working culture. In addition to building operational skills and preparing employees for roles in production, a key objective was to instill a sense of security and self-confidence through simulations of real work scenarios.
Upon completion, participants were assigned to various operational roles within Production, including material preparation, finalisation, and sterile and non-sterile dosing. The EDUC programme equipped them with solid professional and technical competencies, enabling a smoother and faster integration into Production without disrupting workflow efficiency.
Special focus within the tailored training was given to preparing sterile dispensing operators. New employees selected for these demanding roles completed an intensive programme that combined theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice – covering proper gowning procedures for A/B cleanroom environments, hands-on training at EDUC workstations, and two weeks of practical work on a dispenser in Production. During this time, they tackled simulated downtimes that typically occur in real production settings.
This phase marked the culmination of the EDUC module, offering participants a valuable opportunity to apply what they had learned through realistic process simulations. The training took place on a non-sterile solution dispenser, which is not in commercial use during part of the year and serves as an ideal platform for sterile dispensing simulations.
EDUC is an investment in people, fostering both professional growth and long-term development at JGL. It is a space where technical skills are shared and a collective JGL future is built on collaboration and mutual respect.
