JGL’s Science Advisory Board (SAB), an independent body comprised of foreign and domestic experts who raise the science profile of our company’s projects, held its fourth annual meeting.
The attendees of the two-day event were greeted by Eva Usmiani Capobianco, member of JGL’s Board of Directors, Zdravka Knežević, Director of Scientific Operations, and Leo Štefan, an expert in Research and Preformulations and coordinator of the first day of the SAB.
“It is an honour and a pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the Board of Directors at the fourth annual SAB”, said Usmiani Capobianco in her introductory notes, adding: “The meeting is an important platform for sharing ideas and experiences and addressing challenges in our ongoing projects, as well as brainstorming new project and product ideas. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your expertise and dedication, which have contributed to our success, helped us learn, see and understand more, and find solutions for our projects both in theory and practice. I am certain that through the discussions that follow we will continue to work in synergy, creating new value and coming up with sustainable, creative and potentially innovating solutions.”
The Board welcomed new members – Ralf G. Sibbing, MPharm, a pharma expert with years of experience in the industry. His expertise and professional interests focus on the development, regulation, and testing of medical devices, as well as on merging regulations for both medical devices and medicinal products throughDrug Device Combination Products (DDCP). This area is critically important for JGL’s new products and existing ones that now fall under this category due to the EU Commission’s new regulations (e.g., nasal sprays).
The second new member is Prof. Sandra Peternel, PhD, who has a doctorate degree in Biomedical Sciences and studied at the Dermatopathology Department of the University of California. Peternel is an associate professor of dermatology and venereology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka, and also works as a dermatology and venereology specialist at the Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka.
