The ICT Gold Award, the first Croatian national award for best ICT implementation of a non-IT company, was awarded for the first time this year. According to the expert panel, Jadran Galenski laboratorij from Rijeka was recognized as the company with the most successful ICT implementation in business improvement, winning the first ICT gold competition.
Heads of the leading Croatian companies and editorial boards chose the winner in the category of non-IT companies which have best implemented IT and telecommunication products and services, thus accomplishing excellent business results.
Jadran Galenski laboratorij is recognized on the market thanks to its Adrience and Aqua Maris products, as well as other drugs and cosmetic preparations.
From 2005 to the end of 2008 the company, counting around three hundred employees, invested over HRK 18 million into the IT and telecommunication related products and services.
The JGL Board of Directors points out that the very investments made into the ICT technology have resulted in a significantly higher level of productivity, revenue and profit growth over the past few years.
The ICT Gold Award was designed with the purpose of stimulating Croatian companies to make more intelligent and wider investments into the ICT, and to show that the implementation of high-level ICT technologies can be of crucial help in business.
Investments into the ICT have a special significance since it is clear that a country's economy in the subsequent decade depends on investments into knowledge, research and development made today.
