At the award ceremony held in mid-June at the Ivan pl. Zajc Croatian National Theatre to celebrate the feast day of St Vitus, the City of Rijeka handed out awards and honoured individuals and organisations for various achievements. Ivo Usmiani, President of JGL’s Board of Directors, received the "Rijeka Coat of Arms” Golden Plaque for outstanding contribution to continuous value creation in the pharmaceutical business and for bringing together entrepreneurship, science and culture.
He was nominated for the award by members of the PartneRi Business Club, which has been active in Rijeka in recent years, bringing together entrepreneurs, companies and individuals who want to improve the quality of life and work in the local community, primarily by co-financing various cultural projects.
Ivo Usmiani won recognition after thirty years of dedicated work in the pharmaceutical industry. The crowning achievement of his long career of collecting materials and information on the history of pharmacy on the local, national and global levels was the establishment of the JGL Museum of Pharmacy in October of last year.
