According to the analysis of the quality of human resources management system, the JGL company was declared one of the Top 5 in Croatia and placed at the excellent fourth place! The expert team led by the company Selectio d.o.o., in charge of the project Employer Partner Certificate, states that the leading companies included on the list have well developed systems for human resources management, which entails a comprehensive strategic approach to all the key segments of employee management. The importance of quality people management is evident in viewing the human resources department as one of the key functions in the company, as well as in the continuous development of processes which will support quality management of teams by their managers and enable them to achieve their company goals.
- From the very beginning, our wish has been to send a clear message that researching employees' attitudes is not a goal in its own right, but that our ultimate goal entails a clearer understanding and assessment of our strength for maintaining positive results, but also of the additional potential for increasing work satisfaction and working environment, work conditions and processes, and, indirectly, of the efficacy, productivity, growth and success of the company of which we are all part, said Lorena Dika, human resource manager at JGL, upon the announcement of results.
One of the key principles in companies with excellent processes of human resources management is transparency, manifested in a two-way communication with employees, and in clearly defined employees' expectations, as well as the possibilities offered to them by the company. The principle of transparency and clear criteria starts with the process of choosing new employees and continues with their introduction into business, setting goals and monitoring work performance, rewarding, education and career development, as well as regular communication and gathering feedback which is the basis for further development.
For example, continuous assessment of employee dedication gives JGL good insight into the efficacy of its HR processes. The entire corporate management receives feedback through its perception of the success of the organisation and employee management. Focus on employees and HR as a strategic partner in business, and dedication as one of the common corporate goals, serve as indicators of high managerial awareness of the fact that investing into employees presents the key requirement for success. JGL uses research results to set short-term and long-term action plans including concrete initiatives, some of which for 2013 include leadership programmes, initiatives for employee development and career management, as well as a systemic revision of workplace evaluation as a basis for a more transparent system of rewarding employees.
