Educational manual and DVD available, regarding the need to preserve and protect the Adriatic Sea

As a part of the workshop entitled "The sea is alive" of the Ecological Research Society Paks, which has been introducing Croatian children to the abundance of the Adriatic Sea for a number of years, during 2011 JGL supported the implementation of a multidisciplinary educational project in the Kvarner area, entitled "Education of preschool and school children in Croatia on the need to preserve and protect the Adriatic Sea".

Thanks to these efforts, more than 500 students from grades 1 to 6 and two hundred preschool children from Rijeka, Kostrena, Opatija and Lovran have over the past few months been introduced to the wealth and value of underwater habitats in the Adriatic, and learned about the need to preserve and protect them. In addition to the workshops and to further improve the entire project, Company members were active in developing additional teaching resources - an educational booklet and DVD, issued in January of 2012, after obtaining a positive opinion of the Directorate for Joint Programmes of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports and the Education and Teacher Training Agency.

The Paks Society plans to distribute these educational materials to educators, teachers and professors free of charge in all schools in the Republic of Croatia,  which will be disseminated through county managers, whose task is to inform schools in advance about the value of these  materials.

The educational manual can be downloaded here, and the video can be downloaded here.
