World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7 April, and this year’s theme was “Our planet, our health”. Increased greenhouse gas emissions, melting glaciers and pollution are only some of the problems modern society faces today.
The goal of this year’s World Health Day was to raise public awareness of these problems and the importance of health in general, which is the greatest wealth anyone can have.
On Monday, 11 April 2022, the Department of Social Medicine of the Teaching Institute for Public Health of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County organised a celebration of World Health Day on Korzo street in Rijeka. The Department partnered with Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the City of Rijeka, the Nursing School in Rijeka and various other associations and partners.
JGL joined the initiative by offering intraocular pressure and eye dryness tests as part of the Vizol S project. The project has been carried out for the past few months in pharmacies across Croatia and other countries in South-east Europe.
