JGL at the fourth Mommy and Baby Učka Marathon

JGL traditionally supported this year's "Mama i beba Učka maraton"(Mommy and Baby Učka marathon) organized by the Spiritus movens Association from Opatija which promotes a healthy lifestyle, in collaboration with the Aesthetics Centre from Opatija and sponsored by the Town of Opatija for the fourth consecutive year.

The marathon is a very popular event in which about a hundred families with children participated again this year, as well as over the past few years.

Marathon participants were babies pushed by their parents in their strollers or carried in pouches uphill for 7 kilometres, from the "Dopolavoro" restaurant to the top of Učka and back. Not only babies had the opportunity to participate; all families with children who wanted to spend some time in nature, exchanging their experiences and beliefs regarding a healthy way of life were welcome. This year's youngest participant, Dorotea Konjevoda, was only three weeks old!

- The goal of the initiative was to send a message to all families about the importance of spending time outdoors in nature, from the earliest age. In that sense, we give great and special thanks to JGL which has supported us from the very beginning and has always prepared excellent gifts that our participants are specially fond of since they regularly use them - said Milena Obradović Konjevoda on behalf of the organizer after the marathon had ended.

This year's attraction of this noteworthy event was the Tooth Fairy, a masked dental medicine graduate from the "Zubić vila" (Tooth Fairy) Association at the School of Medicine. She taught the young marathon participants about the importance of dental hygiene, handed out toothbrushes, toothpaste as well as letters of commendation, with the help of a dental medicine doctor.
