The new edition of the Diving Medicine Summer School for top medical students from around the world started with the first dive in Kraljevica. For the fifth year in a row, the Croatian Medical Students’ International Committee (CroMSIC) has organised the course with the support of JGL. Participants included students from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, France, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Kuwait, Norway, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Taiwan.
“Our company’s goal is to help people sense the world around them in a better, richer and more confident way, to experience life. We strive to achieve it not only with our products but also through international collaborations, support and partnerships, and we are especially inspired when these originate from top students. We like working with young people because it is always based on a mutual exchange of knowledge and experience, and their curiosity helps us be even better. We have supported the Diving Medicine Summer School from the very beginning as we believe it is a great way of promoting our city, academic community, innovation and abilities. I have no doubt that all of our young guests will enjoy the programme that we have prepared for them, and truly “experience life,” says Alenka Jajac Knez, Market Operations Director at JGL.
As part of the Diving Medicine Summer School, students learn about diving and helping a drowning diver, as well as underwater and hyperbaric medicine, which is being increasingly used in treating patients.
“We are very proud of the fact that we managed to keep the tradition going for five years now. The Diving Medicine Summer School celebrates the beauty of the Adriatic Sea and promotes Croatia not only as a tourist destination but also a country of knowledge and new discoveries, especially in the field of hyperbaric medicine,” says Project Manager Laura Radoš.
In addition to JGL, the project is also supported by the Rijeka Clinical Hospital Centre, the Centre for Underwater and Hyperbaric Medicine, the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, the Rijeka Student Centre and the Rijeka Tourist Board.
