Forty employees of the JGL, together with their colleagues from partner companies, volunteered to clean the beachfront of the Punat Municipality on the island of Krk.
Since many of the natural beaches in the Punat waters are only accessible by boat, this eco-action was carried out with the help of employees of the Marina Punat Group. This is the fifth beach clean-up initiative launched by JGL with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of preservation and protection of the natural environment.
"By selecting many unconventional eco-friendly solutions that go beyond legal requirements, JGL strives to protect the environment and contribute to the sustainable development of the community in its day-to-day operations. We include our employees in the annual coastline clean-up initiatives and take important steps as a team to make our sea more beautiful and sustainable. These small communal initiatives have a direct impact on the preservation of the healing properties of the Adriatic Sea, which help with the recovery of the human body,” says Mate Poropat, director of JGL’s pharmaceutical and technical operations and one of the participants of the clean-up initiative.
The beach clean-up initiative in the Punat area was also commended by Branko Karabaić, director of the Punat Municipality Tourist Board, who said that this was praiseworthy initiative by the company from Rijeka, which has been at the forefront of corporate social responsibility for many years.
