JGL has wholeheartedly supported the work of the Hrabro dijete organization from Nova Gradiška, which brings together parents and family members of children suffering from malignant diseases, but also all those who can help alleviate their difficult path towards recovery and return to normal life.
President Jasminka Žužić emphasized that the organization was founded with the aim of raising public awareness, and for better understanding of the difficulties encountered by children suffering from carcinoma, and their families.
-Apart from combating serious diseases of our youngest members, the organization is also encountering financial problems and a lack of adequate space. However, a number of our successful activities is motivation to continue with our new projects and their realization, all to improve the health of our sick organization members. Our intention is to provide everything necessary through our work. We should accelerate the existing programs of early cancer diagnosis; we need better cooperation between health authorities and organizations with a very difficult role in combating malignant diseases: changing public awareness about carcinoma not being a death sentence, said Žužić, asking JGL to participate in one of the organization's current activities. We provided support to the inspiring activity organized on the national level, entitled "The Support Haircut Caravan".
-The idea is to travel across Croatia and cut people's hair in the streets, ranging from completely shaving it off to trimming the tips. Donations are taken for the haircuts, with the aim of supporting children who have lost their hair as a result of various treatments and chemotherapy. We want to show them that being bald is not a problem - indeed, seeing that adults can also become bald within the blink of an eye causes their joy and widens their smile - Mrs. Žužić concluded.
