JGL has provided its support to the RED NOSES mission which brings smiles and joy of life to places of sadness, fear and pain. The clowndoctors have been bringing joy to children undergoing treatment in hospitals from 1994 in Vienna, and for the last seven years in Croatia.
20 clowndoctors, arstists specially trained for work in hospitals, are currently a part od this mission. They regulary visit seven hospitals in Zagreb and hospitals in Osijek, Vinkovci, Vukovar, Rijeka, Split and Zadar. Clowndoctors also regulary visit departments of high-level care in homes for the elderly and disabled people in Zagreb, Rijeka, Osijek and Split and other institutions in Croatia.
Clowndoctors bring a new way of communicating with children to the hospital environment. With their clown therapy, they help sick children and parents to better cope with the stress caused by the illness and hospitalization. They must undergo special training in which they hone their artistic skills, but also those from the fields of medicine, psychology, communication, etc.
