The Teaching Institute of Public Health of the Primorje-Gorski kotar County and the City of Rijeka have marked World Health Day with an extensive programme held at the Rijeka Korzo. In cooperation with JGL, the Rijeka Red Cross branch office, Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka and the Medico clinic organized intergenerational sports competitions, Nordic walking for citizens and measurements of blood sugar, blood pressure and bone mineral density. Educational materials were handed out, including promotional brochures for JGL's ORS Normia, Lactogyn and Aqua Maris. Other events, such as demonstrations of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and medical consultations were offered as well, all with the aim of raising health awareness among the population and creating an overall positive energy for health.
Children were most delighted by JGL's balloons, while mascots such as the Meralys Mediterranean monk seal, Normia queen, and Lactogynka handed out tattoos and T-shirts, creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout the Korzo.
Let us add that the World Health Day is celebrated on 7 April, and this year's motto was active ageing with slogan "Good health adds life to years". The special program in Rijeka united citizens of all the groups with a common goal - to achieve good health in youth in order to ensure a healthy old age.
