More than five hundred employees of JGL gathered at the Pharma Valley complex in Rijeka, the company headquarters, in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of founding the company. The silver jubilee of this Croatian pharmaceutical company, operating successfully on 30 markets worldwide, was marked by cutting the celebratory cake and presenting jubilee awards in a casual atmosphere of celebration.
Ivo Usmiani, President of JGL's Board of Directors, thanked the employees for 25 years of working together and emphasized that it was a great honour and privilege to work with them. "Your knowledge, abilities and skills, courage and support in launching new projects, your innovation in developing new products, your excellence in the smallest wheel that drives this great JGL mechanism - that's what makes us different and always pulls us two steps forward. Without you, this large factory and all its facilities, of which we are very proud, would still be just buildings that others can build as well", Usmiani concluded his speech on an emotional note.
In addition to colleagues from all over Croatia, JGL's employees from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo, and the employees of daughter companies, Adrialab and Ljekarna Pablo, participated in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of founding the company at the Pharma Valley complex in Rijeka.
More than five hundred JGL employees took part in friendly sports competitions. A so-called millennium photograph of all the attendees forming the shape of a drop, the company trademark, was also taken.
JGL was founded in 1991 as the first and only private pharmaceutical joint stock company in Croatia. It developed from a central laboratory for the manufacture and control of magistral and galenic preparations for the "JADRAN" Rijeka pharmacy.
Today, JGL is an internationally known and renowned company that operates in accordance with the best European practice. Although the last two business years were not easy due to the general geopolitical crisis on the key markets of Russia and Ukraine, JGL successfully realised its biggest investment so far, the construction of the Pharma Valley plant worth HRK 361 million, in the same period. The total revenue of the company in 2015 increased by 3.27 percent compared to 2014, to HRK 624.47 million, while net profit increased by ten percent, amounting to HRK 19.75 million.
