JGL receives an award for the best sustainable development report

JGL received the Green Frog Award 2016 (GNF), an award for the best annual sustainable development report, organized by Deloitte Croatia for the second year in a row.

The award was given to JGL for its report on the business year 2015. The report includes financial, social and environmental business aspects, with a detailed description of activities in the segment of sustainable growth. The reporting year 2015 is particularly significant for JGL due to the realisation of the first and most important phase of the biggest investment in the company's history: the construction of the Pharma Valley production, storage and development complex.

"JGL continuously implements the principles of social responsibility in its business and aims to set an example and contribute to the harmonisation of its own long-term development with the environmental development. Investment in technology and the environment was an integral part in the construction of JGL Pharma Valley, our newest production complex. Choosing advanced technological and ecological solutions and achieving maximum energy savings in the future is the approach on which we base our future," said Dea Demić, Head of Corporate Communications in JGL, at the award ceremony.

Eight companies participated in this year's competition, which was open from the early July to the mid September 2016, after which the expert jury started evaluating competition entries. The first Green Frog Award was awarded in Hungary in 2000, and has since spread to other countries of the Central Europe, the Balkan Peninsula and the Baltic. Since 2015, it has also been awarded on a regional level, and the nominees can include large companies, holding companies, corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, foundations and universities. Deloitte Croatia joined the Green Frog Award project in the past year.

Thanks to this award, JGL's efforts in terms of sustainability reporting according to GRI's G4 guidelines have been recognized by a wider range of stakeholders. The award also represents an excellent opportunity to present the company's sustainable practice outside the national framework, as part of the regional competition currently in progress.

Ensuring sustainable growth has been an integral part of business of globally oriented companies for a number of years, and if it is closely related to a strategy, it leads to long-term business success and the improvement of the financial position of companies.
