JGL Receives “Sjaj” Award for Corporate Social Responsibility on its Digital Platform

In recognition of encouraging good practices in corporate social responsibility on its digital platform, JGL received "Sjaj” (Shine) award from the Dobra Hrvatska business initiative, the Croatian Employers’ Association (CEA) and the Global Compact Croatia network.

The award ceremony was held at the Westin Hotel as part of the annual CEA gala. It was an opportunity to recognise companies for their approach to corporate social responsibility (CEA CSR) in the small, medium-size and large enterprise categories in four major sectors: environmental protection, employee satisfaction, community work, and promoting corporate social responsibility activities within the company supply chain. The awards were handed out by Mrs Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, President of the Republic of Croatia, and Mrs Gordana Deranja, President of the Croatian Employers’ Association. The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Tomislav Tolušić, and Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Darko Horvat, who also handed out awards to the winners, alongside CEA representatives.

By recognising the leaders in corporate social responsibility, the CEA promotes and encourages its wider application in Croatia, so as to enable both companies and communities to benefit from the sustainable business principles, which is in the interest of all of society’s stakeholders.

"There is no success without responsibility. The time when companies did not have to consider their treatment of stakeholders, resources, and the environment is long gone, if it ever even existed. There is also no corporate responsibility without success and profit. We as employers gathered in the Croatian Employers’ Association wish to encourage our members to keep pushing boundaries and raising the bar when it comes to their goals in company responsibility towards the community and their stakeholders, said Gordana Deranja, President of the CEA.

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović delivered the opening address, where she said the following: "The principles of upholding human rights, business ethics, and environmental protection must not go unnoticed. The awards given today will be a token of gratitude of the Croatian Employers’ Association for the companies that are particularly focused on this area of business. Employers who greatly contribute to the economic development by doing business responsibly and by adopting advanced business standards make our country a more favourable place to live. Today we are rewarding a good and ethical Croatia, and these awards will be further incentive for all of the winners, and I wish them great success in their work.

The "Sjaj” award in the category of large enterprises was given to Mislav Vučić, JGL’s CEO.
