Croatia is steadily raising its profile among countries recognised globally as developers of high-tech. This was one of the talking points of the third "Entrepreneurial Mindset” conference held in Zagreb, which brought together some of the leading Croatian entrepreneurs, including President of the JGL Board of Directors Ivo Usmiani.
The subtitle of the conference was "Leaders Among Us”, so most of the speakers and panellists placed special emphasis on the value of people working in their companies.
"A successful leader should know how to listen, always be open to new ideas and continuous learning, they should work hard and know how to put together a great team. Just like in sports, good results require persistent and dedicated teamwork!”, says Usmiani, who shared his experience of being on the JGL Board for 30 years as part of the panel "Looking Beyond the Horizon – Critical Leadership Capabilities”.
In partnership with the conference, the Algebra MBA Business School organised a Leadership Talent Tournament on the topic of entrepreneurship and project-focused team leadership, with a five-member team from JGL taking up the challenge. "Team Maris”, composed of our very own Matija Posavec, Livio Sušanj, Ana Crnković, Vladislav Živković and Bruno Rački, faced strong competition and won second place, which came with an Algebra MBA voucher worth HRK 40,000.00.
JGL’s team demonstrated a high level of analytical thinking, innovation and creativity that was needed to develop a business model that included a placement strategy, risk and benefit assessment, and simulation of the production and commercialisation of a fictional mobile app. The development phase required the team to monetise the app and present a model that would best utilise the "mobile-first” paradigm and help the company launch a real and strong digital transformation initiative.
