JGL’s team, consisting of Tonka Tkalčić Šušnjara, Marin Mijolović, Filip Petrović, Iva Lovrinov Bernobić and Vilim Strejček, won third place at the Leadership Talent Tournament MBA case study organised by Algebra University College.
The contest is based on a business simulation of a real-world event – in this case, the current trade war between the US and China. Participants faced many challenges, including changes in the way we live, do business, and wage trade wars, as well as the effects of these changes on the behaviour of end users. They played the role of decision makers, gathering relevant information, performing a critical analysis and risk assessment, and deciding on further steps to be taken, all in the shortest amount of time possible.
"It was a very interesting challenge. We were given different roles, including the presidents of the USA, China and Croatia, as well as EU representatives. Each team had two minutes to hold a presentation, followed by the most interesting part – the debate. The competition concept and its organisation were well executed,” says Iva Lovrinov Bernobić, adding that JGL’s team had a good sense of teamwork and was actively involved in every part of the competition. Most importantly, they had good answers for every question regarding their arguments.
"We’ve gained a new dynamic learning experience. We were especially delighted by this type of team building and the opportunity for teamwork outside of our usual workplace,” said Lovrinov Bernobić.
