Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster Partners with Indian Ministry

The Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster, of which JGL is a member, has signed a business cooperation agreement with the Indian Institute of Ayurveda, an autonomous organisation established under the Ministry of AYUSH of the Republic of India. This is the result of a shared desire to expand the study of traditional medicine systems, especially Ayurveda, and create a network in this area.

Academic cooperation will include participation in research, lectures, workshops and other similar activities related to Ayurveda, as well as the development of academic standards for Ayurvedic education in Croatia. The Indian Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy) focuses on education, research and dissemination of indigenous systems of alternative medicine in India. Its newly founded partnership with the Cluster is the first of its kind in Croatia.

"Given that one of the goals of the Cluster is to connect members with international partners for a more comprehensive offer of health tourism products, as well as to educate members of the Association, we believe that this business cooperation with the Indian Ministry will open up new opportunities for our 32 members to network with potential partners from India. In addition to improving the health tourism offer in the Kvarner region, this will enable us to work with our new partners on education, training, and building and strengthening competencies,” says Dr Vladimir Mozetič, President of the Cluster.

"During the pandemic, the scientific community in India promoted yoga and Ayurveda as simple and effective measures to restore public health. In Croatia, the profession similarly supported rinsing the nasal mucosa with seawater from the Adriatic as an example of using scientifically proven natural approaches to health,” said Anna Maria Librić, Director of Strategic Marketing at JGL, during her speech at the signing ceremony.

The event was attended by H.E. Raj Kumar Srivastava, Indian Ambassador to Croatia, Shri Pramod Kumar Pathak, Dr Manoj Nesari, Dr Rama Kanta Sharma, Dr Narayanam Srikanth, Dr Vyasadeva Mahanta, and Dr Rahul Jain from the AYUSH Ministry, and President of the Cluster, Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Mozetič, MD, PhD, President of the Management Board Irena Peršić Živadinov, PhD, and members of the Management Board Prof. Sandra Janković, PhD, Sandra Martinčić and Anna Maria Librić.
