The “Congress of Managers – People, Technology, and the Future of Business,” organised by the Croatian Managers’ and Entrepreneurs’ Association (CROMA) and under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia, took place in Opatija on 3 and 4 October 2024.
The congress gathered entrepreneurs and leaders of Croatian companies, featuring a distinguished lecture by Dr Eugene B. Kogan, a renowned expert from Harvard, who spoke to the participants about the power of negotiation in leadership.
The congress also covered topics such as digital DNA and the application of artificial intelligence in business. Several panel discussions were held, where managers explored current business challenges and other relevant issues affecting the domestic economy.
In the panel titled “Leaders of the New Generation,” Iva Rogović Lekić, CEO of Marsh McLennan, and Tomislav Cikač, CEO of Proklima, participated alongside JGL’s CEO, Mislav Vučić.
“At JGL, what drives us the most is our motivation, passion, and desire for knowledge, along with our commitment to succeed. In our journey towards success, particularly in today’s VUCA era, the environment, context, and long-term trends play crucial roles in shaping our direction. Along with the need for constant balancing, which is a fine and very delicate skill, ongoing learning is essential,” Vučić emphasised during the panel. He added that in business, as in life, people are guided by three factors: reason, emotions, and instinct. “Instincts must be controlled, but sometimes, they pave the way to success.”
