This year’s "Patient Counselling Event”, organized by the Croatian Pharmacy and Medical Biochemistry Students’ Association (CPSA), was held from 2 to 4 March 2018 at JGL’s modern Pharma Valley production, storage and development complex in Rijeka, Svilno, and ended with the announcement of the winners who were awarded valuable cash prizes.
The winning team, consisting of Iva Šimović, Dora Tešić and Zvonimir Mlinarić, was the best in tackling the challenges faced by pharmacists in the treatment of palliative patients and, together with their colleagues at JGL, they prepared for the final competition through a series of thematic workshops in pharmacology, pharmacotherapy and consultative skills.
"It is a real pleasure to see such talented and successful young people who will devote their future careers to the advancement of comprehensive health care. We hope that we will transfer valuable knowledge to you and that we will also learn from you,” said Marina Pulišić, member of the company’s Board of Directors at the opening ceremony of the event.
"This year, apart from the competition itself, the participants were offered an opportunity to take a tour of the new Pharma Valley complex, which was an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the possibilities of doing practical work, receiving a scholarship and employment at JGL,” said project coordinator Dora Belec, adding that JGL’s hosting of the event started the decentralization process and relocation of CPSA projects outside Zagreb.
For years, JGL has been actively assisting in the work of certain constituents of the University and student organizations and has been supporting educational projects with special emphasis on those related to youth and socially vulnerable groups. Significant dedication is given to projects that connect students to the business community and prepare them for future entrepreneurial challenges.
The Croatian Pharmacy and Medical Biochemistry Students’ Association is the only one in Croatia that brings together students of these profiles and presents them at international conferences. Through its numerous projects, it steers the professional and personal development of students and contributes to the development of the pharmaceutical and biochemical professions.
