Filip Petrović, the winner of one of the main prizes at the Realizator case study competition of the Foundation of the University of Rijeka, became the new junior brand manager at JGL.
Thanks to the invested effort, knowledge and valuable engagement on JGL’s case "Business Development of the Ophthalmic Portfolio - Entry into the Markets of Germany and Poland in the Segment of Self-healing of Eye Diseases,” Filip and his team received a HRK 3,000 cash prize at the university campus.
Other companies also offered their business cases to the students at the second edition of Realizator, but it was JGL’s case that sparked the most interest - from a total of 28 entries, eleven teams set out to solve JGL’s study.
Filip Petrović said he applied for the competition to present himself to a potential future employer and that JGL’s case was the closest to his profession: "At the presentation of the cases, we realized that JGL took the competition very seriously and that the expectations that were placed before the competitors were very concrete and serious, which gave us the additional motivation to perform the task as best as possible and to stand out among other competitors. As far as the company itself is concerned, it is well known to all of us from Rijeka, and especially to us biotechnology students who did practical work at JGL, and who were taught by people at JGL,” said Filip Petrović.
The Foundation of the University of Rijeka started the competition to bring students closer to the challenges that companies face in the real sector, and JGL’s representative Dunja Siuc Valković, Global Business Development Director, added that the Realizator project exceeded all expectations, as everyone involved took their tasks very seriously and tried to present solutions based on independent market research.
"Great ideas and creative solutions were presented to us, and we were particularly pleased to see that the students were extremely motivated and that they developed solutions on the basis of high quality analyses. Everyone excelled, but Filip’s qualities were recognized by the wider company team and we are glad he became part of our team,” said Siuc Valković.
